The 2016 Infiniti QX50 is the entry-level, luxury compact SUV in the Infiniti lineup. For 2016, QX50 has updated exterior styling and a 4.5-inch longer wheelbase for better rear legroom.
With a hollowed-out grille and wider mouth air vents, the QX50 has sportier styling than the previous year. Chrome accents along the grille, side windows, and door handles give a premium appearance to the QX50. Standard features include heated side mirrors, a moonroof, and 18-inch wheels. An adaptive front lighting system, Xenon HID headlights, fog lights, a reverse tilt-down mirror, and larger 19-inch wheels are also available.
The QX50 is powered by a 327-hp, 3.7-liter V-6 engine mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and rear- or all-wheel drive. Fuel economy for the QX50 is an EPA-estimated 17/24 mpg city/highway.
Inside, the QX50 has an upscale, leather-upholstered interior and a good selection of optional packages. The longer wheelbase increases rear legroom by 4.3 inches. Standard features include a 7-inch display screen, dual-zone automatic climate control, satellite radio, and power/heated front seats. A power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, an 8-way power passenger seat, a power-folding backseat, adaptive cruise control, an integrated navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, and a Bose premium audio system are also available.
Parking the QX50 becomes more convenient with an optional Around View Monitor system. It utilizes cameras on each side of the vehicle, and displays the vehicle’s surroundings on the in-dash screen. Forward collision, blind spot, and lane-departure warning systems are available as well. Standard features include 6 airbags, antilock brakes and an electronic stability system.
