2012 Infiniti M37x Overview
For enhanced handling in any conditions, the all-wheel drive 2012 Infiniti M37x is a performance-oriented luxury sedan that isn’t afraid to mix it up.
Infiniti didn’t change much on the 2012 M37x, which is a good thing because it was already firing on all cylinders. Speaking of cylinders, the M37x is powered by a 330-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6 that generates 270 pounds-feet of torque for impressive acceleration. The M37x’s engine is paired to a seven-speed automatic transmission. Infiniti’s intelligent all-wheel drive system constantly monitors wheel-spin, throttle position, and vehicle speed to automatically divert up to 50% of the power to the front wheels to enhance traction and control in adverse conditions. When the going is smooth, 100% of the power is channeled to the rear wheels.
To customize your driving experience, Infiniti Drive allows drivers to select various drivetrain settings from Standard, Eco, Sport, and Snow modes via a knob controller. The Eco mode is probably the most interesting; it indicates how efficiently you are driving via a yellow-to-green gauge and also provides resistance to the accelerator if it detects inefficient driving. Other performance highlights include available four-wheel steering and a sport-tuned suspension. The 2012 Infiniti M37x receives 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway and competes with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5-Series.
The exterior of the 2012 M37x received a redesign last year and the large grille, standard dual exhaust pipes, 18-inch alloy wheels, xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights, and power-folding mirrors carry-over.
Inside, the 2012 Infiniti M37x has a spacious, luxurious, and tech-driven interior. Leather upholstery, power front seats, a moonroof, push-button start, backup camera, and USB/iPod connectivity come standard. A hard drive-based navigation system that provides real-time traffic info, Birdview perspective control, and enhanced 3D building graphics on a seven-inch color display is optional, as is a 16-speaker Bose Studio Surround sound system, heated steering wheel, and heated/cooled front seats.
Infiniti has taken safety technology to the next level with the Lane Departure Prevention system, which helps keep the 2012 M37x in its lane, while a blind spot detection system warns drivers when they attempt to merge into an occupied lane. An electronic stability system, traction control, antilock brakes, active front head restraints, and six airbags all come standard.
With power and all-wheel drive handling that can get you out of almost any bind, the luxurious 2012 Infiniti M37x is a refined force to be reckoned with.
