2008 Infiniti FX35 Overview
One of the most unique crossover designs of the past few years, the 2008 Infiniti FX35 and its sibling, the Nissan Murano, combine robust V6 power, excellent cargo capacity, and sublime handling characteristics. Available in either two-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, it features a standard 3.5 liter V6 with 275 horsepower mated to a wide-ratio 5-speed automatic transmission with sequential shifting and downshift rev matching for flexible, seamless gearshifts. The optional intelligent all-wheel drive system adds additional traction and control in a variety of road and weather conditions. Major safety features include a 4-wheel anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist for excellent stopping power. Enhanced handling comes courtesy of standard Vehicle Dynamic Control and Traction Control, which offer additional stability and limit wheelspin. An advanced airbag system includes dual front airbags, seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and roof-mounted curtain airbags with rollover sensor to protect front and rear passengers. The interior is laden with useful features and options, including a leather-appointed interior with heated front seats and a 10-way power driver’s seat. A quick-folding 60/40 split-folding rear seat adds cargo flexibility, with a maximum 64.5 cubic feet. The standard stereo is a 300-watt Bose® audio system with in-dash 6-disc CD autochanger with MP3 playback capability, 11 speakers, and XM® Satellite Radio. The available Mobile Entertainment System features a 7-inch flip-down color monitor with wireless headphones. The optional Navigation System includes an expansive DVD database and 3-D Birdview for a more detailed view of your route. The optional Lane Departure Warning system helps to alert the driver when the vehicle is drifting into another lane. Optional intelligent cruise control uses laser sensors to detect vehicles ahead and maintaining a preset distance. The charm of the 2008 Infiniti FX35 lies in its unique styling and supple driving dynamics, which make it an appealing alternative to larger, truck-based SUVs. |
