2009 Infiniti FX35 Overview
After going through a redesign for 2009, the new-look Infiniti FX35 blends an attractive mix of cutting-edge technology, sophisticated looks and attractive performance.
A wide stance on 21-inch Enkei wheels with sculpted, menacing headlights that recess into the streamlined hood give the FX35 a sharp sophistication you don’t find with other SUVs. The FX35 is available in rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, and boasts a serious 3.5-liter, 303-horsepower V-6 engine. A 7-speed automatic transmission takes you to the seventh gear, which means lower-rpm cruising for greater fuel efficiency. Prepare to get 16 mpg in and around the city, and 21-23 mpg on the highway. The FX35 has more power than the Lexus RX 350 and Mercedes-Benz M-Class, and slides right between the two in price.
The FX35 took a page from the EX35’s book with the Around View Monitor, which gives you a virtual 360-degree view in your in-dash monitor so you can see all around your FX when parking. Climate-controlled front seats, Bluetooth®/iPod connectivity, a hard drive navigation system with 8-inch color touch-screen, XM NavTraffic® with real-time traffic information, a 9.3GB Music Box hard drive with compact flash slot and an 11-speaker Bose® premium audio system round out the high-tech gadgetry. Standard interior accents include a glass moonroof, 8-way power driver’s seat, 60/40-split folding rear seatbacks and leather-appointed interior with hand-stained maple wood trim.
It is rare to find a vehicle that can blend such raw power with agile handling. Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) lets you adapt to ever-changing conditions by adjusting the balance of power between the front and rear wheels when needed. Encounter excellent handling with the optional Continuous Damping Control (CDC), which will automatically tighten or soften the suspension when cornering or cruising.
When it comes to safety, the FX35 is loaded with the technology to prevent accidents. If you start drifting into another lane, Lane Departure Warning lets you know. The Infiniti Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) comes with dual-stage front air bags, driver and front-passenger side-impact air bags and roof-mounted curtain side impact air bags.
Those looking for the future of luxury, cutting edge technology and attractive power in a SUV/crossover will have to look no further, for the future is here, the future is infinite—the future is the Infiniti FX35.
