2008 Infiniti EX35 Overview
The all-new 2008 Infiniti EX35 is the manufacturer's first offering into the small luxury crossover segment. With sexy, knife-edge styling, a robust V6 engine, and high-tech safety features, it’s an exciting new debut for Infiniti. The EX35 is available in only one trim level – Journey – and is available with standard rear-wheel drive that supplies excellent dry-road handling, or available all-wheel drive for optimum handling and control in a variety of weather conditions. The award-winning 3.5 liter V6 engine produces an impressive 297 horsepower and 253 lb.-ft. of torque that supplies ample acceleration and pulling power. It’s mated to a smooth-shifting electronically-controlled 5-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode, Downshift Rev Matching and Drive Sport mode to maximize engine performance. The full-independent front and rear suspension provides excellent road feel and a composed ride on a variety of surfaces. A variety of innovative safety features highlight an impressive package. The available Lane Departure Prevention system uses braking intervention if the system senses unintended vehicle drift over highway lines, helping to keep the EX35 on its intended path. The available Around View Monitor helps to eliminate blind spots by giving the driver a 360-degree perimeter view of the vehicle. Dual stage front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, and roof-mounted side curtain airbags help to protect passengers in a collision. The standard four-wheel anti-lock braking system incorporates Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake Assist to generate excellent stopping power and minimize wheel lockup. Standard Vehicle Dynamic Control and a Traction Control System offer excellent stability during evasive maneuvers and help to prevent wheelspin in slippery conditions. Inside the spacious cabin, the optional Navigation Package features an interactive touch-screen, voice activated commands, and XM® NavTraffic® with Real-Time traffic information for expert guidance. It also includes a 9.3 GB Music Box hard drive to store digital music and a RearView Monitor that displays a view of what’s behind the vehicle to assist in parking maneuvers. Of course, a 8-way power drivers seat, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a Bose® Premium Stereo System round out a very luxurious package. For a first effort, the 2008 Infiniti EX35 makes big splash in the small luxury crossover pool, with a combination of innovation, power, and world-class styling. |
