2009 Hyundai Veracruz Overview
Proving that one can attain luxury without breaking the bank, the 2009 Hyundai Veracruz offers style, sophistication and a host of standard features that rival the pricier competition. Not much has changed with the 2009 Veracruz, especially when it comes to the engine. The Veracruz is powered by a 3.8-liter, 260-horsepower V-6, which is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Just because the Veracruz is a luxury SUV doesn’t mean that it can’t get dirty. The Veracruz is available in two-wheel, four-wheel and all-wheel drive, giving you the option of ability and agility. When it comes to fuel economy, the Veracruz receives 15-16 mpg in the city and 22-23 mpg on the highway. The Veracruz competes with the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander and pricier Lexus RX 350. Spacious and comfortable, the Veracruz seats seven in three rows of seats. The second row slides forward for easy access to the third row, which has the ability to fold into the floor to optimize cargo space. Once inside the 2009 Hyundai Veracruz, you’ll notice a host of standard features. A CD/MP3 player with satellite radio capability and a six-speaker audio system with steering wheel mounted controls and all-new USB/iPod auxiliary inputs are standard. A power driver’s seat, heated front seats, leather upholstery and a power liftgate are optional. Other optional premium features include an Infinity® Logic 7® 6-disc changer with surround sound and 10 premium speakers for a dynamic sound experience. Automatic climate control, keyless ignition, navigation system and rear-seat DVD entertainment system with 8-inch screen are available. An available backup warning system uses sensors in the rear bumper to assist with parking maneuvers. An impressive array of safety features makes the Veracruz one of the highest-rated midsize SUVs in federal crash tests. With six standard airbags, including dual front airbags, dual front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and dual roof-mounted side-curtain airbags, all three rows of passengers are protected in a collision. Standard 4-wheel disc anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution and Brake Assist help to prevent lockup during hard braking and maintain control on slippery roads. Electronic Stability Control with Traction Control is standard, helping to maintain vehicle stability during evasive maneuvers and reducing wheelspin under acceleration. With so many standard features that complement its luxurious look and feel, all at a great price, the 2009 Hyundai Veracruz is a diamond in the rough of sophisticated SUVs.
