The Hyundai will most certainly prove more practical than the Subaru Forester for those of you with frequent kid-cargo. Towing is substantially more the Hyundai's forte than it is the Subaru Forester's.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Hyundai Santa Fe packs quite a wallop and will knock the Subaru down a few rungs. However, bear in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Hyundai Santa Fe than the Forester because of its bigger tank. The Subaru Forester and the Santa Fe compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
You likely won't have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Subaru Forester than with the Hyundai Santa Fe, because both offer similar ranges.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Forester to the dealership as the Hyundai Santa Fe. As far as gas mileage, the Subaru beats the Santa Fe. With their similar turning circles, the Subaru Forester and the Hyundai Santa Fe most certainly handle almost the same into and out of tight spots.

Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the Subaru's front cabin compared to the Hyundai. The Subaru Forester provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Hyundai Santa Fe does.
