2011 Hyundai Santa Fe Overview
After coming off of a redesign last year, the 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe midsize crossover continues on with two engines, impressive fuel economy and modern style.
Not to be confused with a rough-and-tumble SUV, the 2011 Santa Fe crossover is for those who require a little more utility during their daily commute and for those once-in-a-while outdoor excursions. Under the hood, a 175-horsepower, 2.4-liter inline-four-cylinder and a 276-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 give you two distinct power options. Transmission choices include a standard six-speed manual and an optional six-speed automatic with auto-manual mode. If you do want to get off the beaten path, all-wheel drive is available with the automatic transmission. Fuel estimates are great for both models at 19-20 mpg in the city and 25-28 on the highway. Other combatants in the midsize crossover segment include the Toyota Highlander and Nissan Murano.
The 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe is available in three trim levels: GLS, SE, and Limited and comes with standard 17-inch wheels. The Santa Fe carries over the refreshed grille, bumpers, and other exterior refinements from last year and gets five new exterior colors for 2011. Roof rack side rails and heated power side mirrors come standard on the GLS, while a windshield wiper de-icer, automatic headlights, front fog lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a body color rear spoiler with LED brake lights are included with the SE. The Limited tops things off with a power one-touch sunroof and chrome accent exterior door/tailgate handles.
Cloth interior is standard inside the 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe, while leather is optional. Air conditioning, a clean air ionizer, power windows/locks, wood grain trim, steering-wheel-mounted controls, and an iPod/USB input are standard on all trims. Dual-front automatic temperature controls, leather-wrapped steering wheel, premium 360-watt audio system with seven speakers, in-dash navigation system, heated front seats, an Infinity LOGIC7 605-watt 10-speaker audio system, and power driver seat with lumbar support are optional. The Santa Fe boasts 78.2 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded.
Safety comes standard with front and side-impact airbags for the front seats, curtain airbags that cover the side windows in the front and rear, an electronic stability system with traction control and active head restraints for the front seats.
