Price, Photos, Reviews & Features
2009 Hyundai Santa Fe Overview
The 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe is a competitive small SUV with exhilarating performance, unique design and outstanding versatility.

Available in three trim levels — the base GLS, sporty SE, and luxurious Limited — it features a pair of powerful V-6 engines. The 2.7-liter, 185-horsepower V-6 supplies adequate acceleration and is paired to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. The uplevel 3.3-liter, 242-horsepower V-6 is better equipped for towing and hauling duties. It’s mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC® manual shifting capability. Front-wheel drive is standard, while optional electronic automatic all-wheel drive greatly enhances on- and off-road traction. The Santa Fe receives 17-18 mpg in the city and 23-24 mpg on the highway and competes with the Toyota Highlander and Subaru Tribeca.

With the second- and third-row seats folded down, there is a maximum of 78.2 cubic feet of cargo space available, which is quite generous for this class. Major standard interior amenities include a new CD/MP3 compatible audio system with six speakers, USP/iPod input jack and XM® Satellite Radio for excellent audio quality. A roof rack with one-touch adjustable cross rails will accommodate a pair of bikes, skis, or a kayak. SE models add integrated fog lights for better nighttime visibility, 18-inch alloy wheels for serious style, and steering-wheel mounted audio controls for fingertip control. Limited models add heated front seats with leather upholstery which are much appreciated in the colder months. The power driver seat with lumbar support will help you find the perfect driving position, while the automatic temperature control includes air filtration and smog-sensing air quality system to create a healthy in-cabin environment.

The comprehensive safety package includes dual front airbags, front seat-mounted side impact airbags, and roof-mounted side-curtain airbags for all three rows. Standard anti-lock brakes with Brake Assist and electronic brake-force distribution prevent wheel lockup and maximize braking power. Standard Electronic Stability Control with Traction Control enhances vehicle stability during evasive maneuvers and limits wheelspin on slick surfaces.

With ample power, cargo space, and useful features, the 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe is a slick performer with style, substance and outdoor capability that is sure to inspire.
