2010 Hyundai Azera Overview
The words economical and premium are not typically attributed to the same item, but the 2010 Hyundai Azera assures us those two traits can work together harmoniously. Two powerful all-aluminum engines evoke those economical and premium ideals: a 234-horsepower, 3.3-liter V-6, and a 263-horsepower, 3.8-liter V-6. Both engines are mated to a five-speed Shiftronic® automatic transmission, and help the Azera achieve 17-18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Azera competes nicely with the Toyota Avalon, Nissan Maxima, Buick LaCrosse and Ford Taurus when it comes to power and fuel efficiency. Space is perhaps the 2010 Hyundai Azera’s greatest asset. Head room is far superior to direct competitors such as the Ford Taurus and Toyota Avalon, as well as the much more expensive Lexus ES 350. Interior volume, at 123.5 cubic feet, is superior to the far more expensive BMW 750i, as well as the Toyota Avalon and Nissan Maxima. Legroom and luggage capacity also beat many competitors. Interior beautification is handled by wood and metal inlays, and for 2010, the Azera gets more wood trim added to the steering wheel and the interior door handles. Comfort features include power adjustable front seats and dual zone automatic climate control, while entertainment (on the base GLS model) is provided by a 172-watt, six-speaker audio system with CD/MP3 player and XM Satellite Radio. Icing on your GLS cake comes with the Premium package, which installs leather seats with heat and a power sunroof. Those looking for a more dynamic listening experience can grab the Limited model and its 315-watt, 10-speaker Infinity® audio system with six-CD changer. To fully deck-out your Azera, add the navigation package to the Limited model. The navigation option package also includes an eloquent 605-watt, 11-channel Infinity® Logic 7® audio system that sports one dozen speakers. Safety first is an adage Hyundai holds to, starting with traction and stability control systems coupled to antilock brakes with brake assist and brake-force distribution, for an optimal driver’s safety net. The Azera, with its eight standard airbags, completes the safety course at NHTSA with Four-Star ratings in front impact tests and Five-Star ratings in side impact. Amazing is the word that best describes what is offered in the 2010 Hyundai Azera, with its powerful engines, safety package, superior interior room and super low price.
