The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the HUMMER H3 to the dealership as the Toyota Highlander. The HUMMER H3 isn't much costlier than the Toyota Highlander regarding MSRP.

Utility
The Highlander's larger trunk will accommodate more large objects than the HUMMER. The Toyota Highlander will very likely prove handier than the HUMMER H3 for those of you with frequent child-cargo. The Highlander is likely a better choice than the HUMMER H3 as far as transporting cargo, especially if you often need to carry a lot of luggage or big pets. Towing is significantly more the HUMMER H3's forte than it is the Toyota Highlander's.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the HUMMER H3 offers a bit more head room than the Toyota Highlander, there really isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Toyota Highlander offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the HUMMER H3, there frankly isn't much of a difference.

Dimensions
The HUMMER H3 is significantly heavier than the Toyota Highlander. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the HUMMER than the Toyota Highlander because of its bigger tank. The HUMMER H3 rides lower than the Highlander, which is a good thing for its center of gravity and ease of access. The Toyota and the HUMMER H3 compete for the same parking spaces.

Handling
The H3 has quite a bit wider tires than the Highlander. Keep in mind that wider tires can improve handling, while narrower tires may improve gas mileage. With their comparable turning radii, the HUMMER H3 and the Highlander indubitably handle approximately the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Toyota Highlander's engine is a little smaller than the HUMMER H3's, but not terribly so. The Toyota has no lessons to learn regarding torque from the HUMMER H3.
