The Pontiac Torrent's larger trunk will accommodate more big items than the HUMMER. Neither the HUMMER H3 nor the Pontiac Torrent has a marked advantage as far as seating capacity. There's no clear winner between the Pontiac Torrent and the HUMMER H3 with respect to hauling capacity. The HUMMER H3 outpulls the Pontiac Torrent by a sizeable margin.

Performance
Both the HUMMER H3 and the Pontiac Torrent are likely to feel a little slow because of their high horsepower-to-weight ratio.

Dimensions
The H3 is substantially heavier than the Pontiac Torrent. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the HUMMER H3 than the Pontiac Torrent because of its larger tank. The HUMMER H3 rides lower than the Torrent, which is a good thing for its center of gravity and ease of access. The HUMMER H3 and the Torrent compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
You'll very likely have to take the Pontiac Torrent for a fill-up more often than the H3 because of its tank size and gas mileage.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs roughly the same to get the HUMMER H3 to the dealership as the Torrent.
