HUMMER H3 SUV vs. Mercury Mountaineer Review

Handling
The HUMMER and the Mercury Mountaineer have about similar tires. With their similar turning radii, the Mercury and the H3 very likely handle approximately the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Mercury Mountaineer's engine is considerably more sizeable than the H3's. Note that larger engines may use more gas than smaller ones. Torque equals pickup, and the Mountaineer will have picked up and gone by the time the HUMMER H3 finally gets moving.

Utility
The Mercury's larger trunk will accommodate more large objects than the HUMMER H3. Drivers with frequent child-duty might favor the Mountaineer over the HUMMER H3. The Mercury Mountaineer is a better choice than the HUMMER H3 as far as hauling capacity, especially if you often need to carry a lot of equipment or massive beasts. Towing is markedly more the Mercury's forte than it is the HUMMER H3's.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the H3 offers a bit more head room than the Mountaineer, there honestly isn't much of a difference. The Mercury Mountaineer is not particularly roomier for your passengers than the HUMMER H3.

Dimensions
The HUMMER H3 is a bit more ponderous than the Mercury Mountaineer. The Mountaineer's tank is roughly the same size as the H3's, though the HUMMER H3's is a tad larger. The HUMMER H3 and the Mercury compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs roughly the same to get the HUMMER H3 to the dealership as the Mercury Mountaineer. As far as MSRP, the HUMMER H3 doesn't cost much less than the Mercury Mountaineer.

Overview
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Mercury Mountaineer isn't quite as generous as the HUMMER H3's.
