Performance
With that kind of horsepower, both the H3 SUV and the Jeep Commander are legitimate speedsters.

Handling
With their comparable turning circles, the HUMMER H3 SUV and the Jeep likely handle roughly the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The HUMMER H3 SUV's engine is a bit smaller than the Jeep Commander's, but not terribly so. The Jeep has no lessons to learn in terms of torque from the HUMMER H3 SUV. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the HUMMER H3 SUV isn't much more powerful than the Commander.

Utility
Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Jeep Commander over the HUMMER H3 SUV. There's no clear winner between the Jeep Commander and the HUMMER H3 SUV with respect to transporting cargo. Towing is significantly more the Jeep's forte than it is the H3 SUV's.

Convenience
The HUMMER H3 SUV's fuel tank will need to be replenished a tad more often than the unit in the Jeep Commander.

Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the Commander's front cabin compared to the H3 SUV. While the rear of the Jeep offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the HUMMER, there frankly isn't much of a difference.

The Jeep Commander's tank is almost the same size as the HUMMER H3 SUV's, though the HUMMER H3 SUV's is a little larger. The H3 SUV and the Commander compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The HUMMER H3 SUV won't tax your gas budget considerably more than the Jeep will. The Commander isn't much less expensive than the HUMMER H3 SUV with respect to MSRP.

The basic warranty that comes with the Commander isn't quite as generous as the HUMMER H3 SUV's.
