HUMMER H2 SUT vs. Mercedes-Benz M-Class Review

Utility
Neither the Mercedes-Benz M-Class nor the HUMMER H2 SUT has a marked advantage when it comes to seating capacity. The HUMMER H2 SUT is a better choice than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class regarding transporting cargo, especially if you frequently need to carry a lot of luggage or massive pets. The HUMMER H2 SUT outpulls the Mercedes-Benz M-Class by a massive margin.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the HUMMER H2 SUT packs quite a wallop and will knock the Mercedes-Benz M-Class down a few rungs. On the flip side, bear in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The H2 SUT is tremendously more bulky than the Mercedes-Benz. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the HUMMER H2 SUT than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class because of its bigger tank. The Mercedes-Benz M-Class and the H2 SUT compete for the same parking spaces. The H2 SUT's longer wheelbase will result in a smoother, more stable ride; on the flip side, the M-Class may give a more maneuverable feel in daily traffic.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the M-Class to the dealership as the HUMMER. The HUMMER H2 SUT is significantly pricier than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class when it comes to MSRP.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Mercedes-Benz M-Class is quite certainly more agile than the HUMMER H2 SUT, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, bear in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Mercedes-Benz M-Class's engine is tremendously smaller than the HUMMER's. Note that smaller engines can be stressed more; on the other hand, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. Torque equals pickup, and the HUMMER H2 SUT will have picked up and gone by the time the Mercedes-Benz M-Class finally gets moving. The Mercedes-Benz M-Class could learn a lesson or two from the HUMMER H2 SUT with respect to pickup.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the HUMMER H2 SUT offers a bit more head room than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, there frankly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class provides a bit more head- and leg-room than the HUMMER, there really isn't much of a difference.

Warranty
The HUMMER H2 SUT and the Mercedes-Benz M-Class have the same basic warranty.
