2009 HUMMER H3T Overview
The basic design of GM's 2009 Hummer H3T - the brand's first true pickup - is loosely modeled on the design of the H3, but that's where the similarities end. Smaller than a full-size truck, but larger than a midsize, the H3T features both a five-passenger crew cab as well as a five-foot-long bed, fit with standard bedrails. Versatility is really the name of the game with this new model - thousands of possible configurations and accessories make it functional for all outdoor activities. Though Hummers have never been known for their gas mileage, the H3T's enhanced features don't make it any more costly to fuel up than the remainder of the brand's fleet. Both the H3 4WD and the H3T boast around 14 mpg city and 18 mpg highway. That's in the same ballpark as most trucks in this class, including the Ford Explorer Sport and Honda Ridgeline RT. Even better news is the price. The H3T starts at $30,750, over $2500 less than the base H3. That sticker will get you the 3.7-liter five-cylinder engine, delivering 242-horsepower. You'll be doing 0-60 in about nine seconds. For those needing a little extra oomph, a 5.3-liter, 300-horsepower V8 is also available, which will allow you to haul up to 5,900 pounds. The H3T remains the only midsized truck to come standard with full-time four-wheel drive, for enhanced maneuverability. The basic model also includes 32-inch tires (with an option to go for 33-inch), dual front and side impact airbags, AC, power locks, XM Satellite radio, remote keyless entry, the OnStar system and functional skid shields. This truck is all about the accessories and options, with everything from Turn-By-Turn navigation and hands-free Bluetooth connectivity to passenger entertainment options to systems for organizing, covering and arranging the bed. In addition to the 75 official Hummer accessories offered, Hummer has partnered with a variety of top automotive companies to provide H3T owners with a staggering selection of 50 more possible accessories, bringing the grand total to 125. Enjoy all of the traits of a Hummer and the utility of a pickup with the all-new 2009 Hummer H3T.
