As far as crossover SUV’s go, the 2009 Honda Pilot flies above the competition with its power, seating capacity and safety features.  Improvements to the interior and exterior and a new trim level give you numerous reasons why you should be driving a Pilot.

The Pilot offers four models to choose from; the standard LX, the semi-premium EX and EX-L and the ultra premium and brand new Touring.  Each trim is available in 4-wheel drive and all come equipped with 3.5-liter, 250-horsepower V6 engines.  Fuel economy is better, but average at best for all models at 17/23/19 MPG for city/highway/combined.   Three rows of seats accommodate eight passengers and a Class III trailer hitch tows up to 4,500 pounds.  All models include all-disc antilock brakes, an electronic stability system and side-impact and curtain airbags for all three rows of seats.  Hill Start Assist keeps the Pilot from rolling backward on inclines and Speed-Sensitive Volume Control (SVC) adjusts the volume depending on exterior noises.

New exterior features include a tailgate with lift-up glass hatch making it easier for you to access the cargo section.  Rectangular headlights border a six-sided new-look grille and compliment the box-shaped body.

The LX has a plethora of quality standard features, but it’s not until you get to the EX and EX-L that you begin to get an idea of the Pilot’s potential.  The EX comes with an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, Tri-zone Automatic Climate Control with Humidity Control and 17-inch alloy wheels.  The Pilot is ready to carry your growing family with Lower Anchors and Tether for Children (LATCH), which anchors up to four children.

The EX-L comes equipped with a moonroof, acoustic windshield, optional DVD rear entertainment system, leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats and a 512-watt AM/FM/6-Disc sound system with 10 speakers and subwoofer.

If the EX-L wasn’t enough, the top-of-the-line Touring represents the pinnacle of crossover SUV innovation.  Features include a power tailgate, 17-inch alloy wheels, side-mirror-integrated turn signals, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with voice recognition and rear view camera and MP3/auxilary input jack and USB audio interface connectivity.

The 2009 Honda Pilot successfully blends dependability, safety, power, space, innovation and style into four models that make it impossible to pass up.
