Boxy SUVs have been quite popular since Honda and Scion rolled out their customizable street-smart sport-utes to tempt young buyers. The 2008 Honda Element continues to appeal to a wide range of buyers who enjoy flexibility, huge cargo room, and a host of utilitarian features.

The standard Element is available in two trim lines – LX and EX – in either two-wheel drive or Real Time™ 4-wheel drive. The Element SC, with aggressive styling and a tuned suspension, is available only in two-wheel drive. All models share a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine with 166 horsepower and up to 1,500 lbs. of towing capacity – more than adequate for a variety of adventures. Both a 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic transmission are available. The available 4WD system engages when wheel slippage is detected and you need maximum tire grip, helping to traverse rough terrain.

With the rear seats folded down, there is 77.1 cubic feet available in 4WD models. Adaptable, configurable seating and versatile cargo design allow you to flip, fold or take the rear seats out for 64 different space options. The clamshell tailgate and side cargo doors allow easy loading and flexible options for hauling. The seats are covered in waterproof FXC™ (Fabric for Extreme Conditions) fabric, which helps to keep the seats clean and dry. The removable skylight (4WD models) can be lifted off, allow you to stand up through the roof to change clothes or simply get some fresh air.

SC models add more custom style, with low-profile tires, 18” alloy wheels, and a low-ride height for an aggressive stance. An enhanced black grille, projector beam headlights and four custom colors add even more street cred.
