2011 Honda Element

For those who are always on the go and require a vehicle that can pose as their mini-house, the versatile and fun 2011 Honda Element can help take you wherever you want to be, whenever you want to go.

Because the 2011 Element features a unique box-shape, it lends itself to those who would like easy access to its spacious interior.  Both the front and rear doors open outward to a full 90 degrees allowing you top-notch accessibility to the Element’s interior and its 74.6 cubic feet of cargo space.  Open the rear hatch and clamshell tailgate (which is strong enough to hold up to 220 pounds) for rear cargo room access. 

Once inside of the Element, you’ll notice seating for four and 64 different seating configurations that provide endless opportunities.  The rear seats can be folded flat, folded to the sides or removed altogether.  They also sit a tad higher than the front seats, giving rear passengers a theater-effect and a bird’s eye view of the road.  If you need more storage space, just look up to a three-compartment overhead storage console that extends to the backseat.  The floor-mounted center console can be equipped with a removable cooler for road trips, tailgating, and beach excursions. 

Air conditioning, water-resistant seats (that can withstand stains), and power windows and locks come standard, while a GPS navigation system, 270-watt audio system and MP3 jack are optional.  The 2011 Honda Element is available in LX and EX trims after jettisoning the SC trim for 2011. 

When it comes to power, the 2011 Honda Element boasts good punch with a 166-horsepower, 2.4-liter inline-four-cylinder engine that outputs 161 pounds-feet of torque and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.  Both the LX and EX can be equipped with either front- or all-wheel drive.  Fuel economy is decent with 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway and the Element competes with the Ford Escape, Nissan Rogue, and Jeep Compass.

Similar to the bigger Honda Pilot SUV, the 2011 Element features a boxy, yet rugged appearance.  Power mirrors and 16-inch wheels come standard, while 18-inch wheels, chrome exhaust tips and fog lamps are optional.

Safety comes standard in the 2011 Honda Element, which features standard side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags, antilock brakes, and an electronic stability system with traction control as standard equipment.  A backup camera is optional.
