2015 Honda Crosstour Exterior

2015 Honda Crosstour Overview

New/Notable:
  • Midsize hatchback that is based on the Accord
  • Four-cylinder and V-6 engine options
  • 25.7 cubic feet of rear cargo room
Based on the Accord midsize sedan, the 2015 Honda Crosstour straddles the line between car and SUV to create a unique vehicle that’s a little bit of both.

For 2015, there are no significant changes to be found on the Crosstour. From the front grille to the windshield the Crosstour basically looks like an Accord, but once you get to the cabin things start to change. Instead of slanted rear glass that leads into the trunk, the rear of the Crosstour bulges out to expand cargo room and forms a large hatchback opening instead. This gives the Crosstour 25.7 cubic feet of room behind the rear seats which is an over 60-percent improvement when compared to the Accord.

There are two engine options; the base engine is a 192-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder that is mated to a five-speed automatic. Also available is a 278-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 that comes with a six-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available on EX-L V-6 models only. The V-6 also features cylinder deactivation which improves fuel economy. Four-cylinder models get 22/31 mpg city/highway, while front-wheel drive V-6 models return 20/30 mpg and all-wheel drive models get 19/28 mpg.

Inside, the Crosstour offers plenty of standard features including a USB port, Bluetooth connectivity, power driver’s seat, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, air conditioning, and steering wheel audio controls. Leather upholstery is optional, as are a navigation system, heated seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Standard safety features in the 2015 Crosstour include a rearview camera, active front head restraints, six airbags, an electronic stability system, and antilock brakes. Honda’s LaneWatch system is optional; when the right turn signal is activated, a camera located below the passenger side mirror displays the blind spot on the Crosstour’s screen. Also available are forward collision warnings and lane departure warnings.
