2010 Honda Ridgeline Overview
The 2010 Honda Ridgeline four-door, half-ton pickup offers the interior comfort and amenities of an SUV with the tough-truck mentality of a pickup capable of hauling heavy loads and going off-road. The 2010 Honda Ridgeline is available in base RT, RTS and upscale RTL trim levels and powered by a 250-horsepower, 3.5-liter VTEC V-6 engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Honda’s variable torque management four-wheel-drive system operates in front-wheel drive until more traction is needed in which case, additional torque is sent to the rear wheels. Other unique features include an independent front and rear suspension and a locking rear differential. When properly equipped, the five-passenger Ridgeline can tow up to 5,000 pounds. EPA estimated fuel economy ratings are 15 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. Other than adding new colors, the Ridgeline remains unchanged since its 2009 redesign. Facing competition from the likes of Nissan Titan and Toyota Tacoma, the 2010 Honda Ridgeline is equipped with a 5-foot bed, 8.5-cubic-foot lockable in-bed trunk and dual-action tailgate that helps accommodate longer items. Eight tie-downs are located inside the bed. Additional standard exterior features include an integrated trailer hitch and daytime running lamps. Inside, leather seating is standard in the RTL and 60/40 lift-up rear seats in all models feature an additional storage area underneath. The rear seats can also be lifted up to accommodate large items, such as a mountain bike. A navigation system with voice recognition software and a backup camera, Bluetooth capability and XM satellite radio are also available features in RTL models. More options include heated front seats, power-sliding rear window and seven speaker, six-CD changer sound system. The 2010 Honda Ridgeline is among the safest in the half-ton pickup segment having achieved Five-Star ratings in government crash tests for frontal and side impacts. A host of standard safety features include side-impact airbags for the front seats, side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor, antilock brakes, front-seat active head restraints, electronic brake distribution, which adjusts brake pressure between front and rear wheels depending on cargo load, brake assist and an electronic stability system with traction control. If comfort and loads of cargo options combined with the capability of a work truck appeal to you, then you’ll want to check out the 2010 Honda Ridgeline.
