2009 GMC Yukon XL 1500 Overview
The 2009 GMC Yukon XL 1500 returns with a variety of engine choices, interior amenities, and seating configurations. With a huge interior and extended wheelbase, it offers slick styling, excellent towing capacity, and a choice between two-wheel drive and more capable four-wheel drive.

The Yukon XL 1500 is available in base SLE, SLT and top-of-the-line Denali trim levels. There are two 5.3-liter, 310-horsepower V-8 engines.  One engine is gas-only and one that is E85 FlexFuel ready.  Both a 6.0-liter, 366-horsepower V-8 and a 6.2-liter, 403-horsepower V-8 FlexFuel engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.  The Yukon XL 1500 gets 12-14 mpg in the city and 19-20 mpg on the highway and competes with the Chevrolet Suburban and Ford Expedition EL.

With seating capacity up to nine passengers, the XL 1500 is the ultimate family hauler. Cargo room is voluminous, with a maximum of 137.4 cubic feet with the optional third-row seat removed and second row seat folded. Towing capacity is extremely competitive, with a maximum of 9,700 pounds on 2WD three-quarter ton models with the 6.0-liter V-8.  An integrated brake controller provides proper brake force to your trailer’s brake systems to provide improved handling and control.

Amenities are plentiful, inside and out. An array of 18- and 20-inch aluminum wheels announce you’ve arrived in style. Ultrasonic rear park assist provides an audible beep to indicate your distance from objects when backing up. An optional Bose® nine-speaker audio system with dual-play CD/MP3/DVD player provides excellent acoustic clarity. The optional navigation radio includes voice recognition and a touch-screen navigation screen for ease of use.

The XL 1500 is one of the safest vehicles in the full-size SUV class. Dual front airbags and head-curtain side airbags for all rows are standard, with a rollover sensor for added protection. Also standard is the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, improving vehicle stability during emergency maneuvers. The standard anti-lock braking system helps to maintain control by reducing wheel lockup during hard braking.

One of the most luxurious SUVs on the planet, the 2009 GMC Yukon XL 1500 remains a top choice for buyers who crave power, roominess, and major towing ability
