New 2010 GMC Yukon Hybrid

Whoever said that a fuel efficient full-size SUV would never work has never experienced the rugged, powerful and spacious 2010 GMC Yukon Hybrid.

The 2010 GMC Yukon Hybrid is only offered with a short wheelbase and in two trim levels. The upscale Denali trim level is new for 2010. A monstrous 332-horsepower, 6.0-liter V-8 engine coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission with auto-manual mode powers the 2010 GMC Yukon Hybrid. The Yukon Hybrid are 21 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.  When properly equipped, the rear-wheel-drive Yukon Hybrid can tow up to a hefty 6,200 pounds.

The Yukon Hybrid is equipped with a two-mode hybrid system that enables it to achieve 50 percent better gas mileage than the conventional gasoline-powered Yukon. The system combines the V-8 engine with two electric motors, both powered by a 300-volt battery pack. A cylinder-deactivation system cuts power to four cylinders when all eight aren’t needed, thereby gaining fuel efficiency. Better yet, idling is now a thing of the past, thanks to the Yukon Hybrid’s electrically driven air conditioning, which cools the cabin even with the engine shut off.

The 2010 GMC Yukon Hybrid sits on standard 18-inch aluminum wheels, while the Denali rests on 22-inch chrome wheels. Standard exterior features include heated power side mirrors, low-rolling-resistance tires, LED rear tail lamps and a rear spoiler for enhanced aerodynamics. At 202 inches long and 79 inches wide, exterior dimensions are the same as the short-wheelbase GMC Yukon

With benches across all three rows, the 2010 GMC Yukon Hybrid can seat up to eight. All models offer standard removable third-row seating and second-row seats fold flat providing maximum cargo capacity of 108.9 cubic feet. Standard interior amenities include leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, automatic climate control, a Bose sound system, heated seats, a navigation system and rearview camera. For even more luxury and convenience, the Denali adds 12-way power-adjustable cooled leather front seats and an optional sunroof, rear DVD player and a blind spot warning system.

A suite of standard safety technologies includes dual-stage front airbags with a passenger-sensing system, side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor, four-wheel-disc antilock brakes, an electronic stability control with traction control and OnStar.
