2009 GMC Sierra 1500 Overview
Everyone's tastes can be accounted for in the 2009 GMC Sierra 1500. It can satisfy the strictest off-road enthusiast with its sheer power and durability. It will also please those with more refined tastes with its high end options and body design.
The 2009 version is a carryover from 2008, and the Sierra 1500 retains all of its spectacular trims from the previous years. The vehicle is available in five different engines, including the 4.3-liter V-6, the 4.8-liter V-8, the 5.3-liter V-8, and the 6.0-liter V-8. A 6.2-liter V-8 engine is available for the first time in the 2009 model. It has a FlexFuel engine just right for our environmentally conscious times. While the V-6 comes with a four-speed automatic transmission, all V-8s come with a six-speed automatic transmission and electronic stability control.
While the engine types give the buyer a wide spectrum of options, the body type choices are mind boggling. Depending on your needs, choose a regular cab (the SLE1 edition), an extended cab, crew cab or work truck body. Box lengths vary from 5.75 to 8 feet. Furthermore, most engine and trim combinations are available in 4x2 or 4x4 for both on- or off-road driving. The options are limitless. Go all out and add Bluetooth to your truck. If you're off-roading, feel secure by adding XMNavTra so you will know that you will never be completely lost.
Often compared to the Ford F-150 and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the GMC Sierra 1500 outshines both trucks in options, interior room and style. It is comparable in cost and gas mileage - 14 MPG in the city and 19 MPG on the freeway.
