2011 GMC Savana 3500 Overview
The 2011 GMC Savana 3500 tops GMC’s line of commercial cargo/passenger vans and this highly customizable hauler is ready to tackle the biggest of jobs.
Under the hood, there are three engine choices to power the Savana 3500. Cargo vans come with either a 280-horsepower, 4.8-liter V-8 that is Flex Fuel/E85 capable or a 260-horsepower, 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V-8. Passenger vans can be outfitted with a 324-horsepower, 6.0-liter V-8 or the previously mentioned turbo-diesel V-8. Both cargo and passenger vans come with a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and rear-wheel drive.
The flexible Savana 3500 is available in regular or extended wheelbase models. For the cargo van, this increases cargo room from 270.4 cubic feet to 313.9 cubic feet, an increase of 40 cubic feet. In the passenger van, regular models can seat up to 12 passengers while extended models increase seating capacity to 15 passengers.
Air conditioning comes standard, while power windows and locks, remote keyless entry, and power seats are available as options.
Safety features include all-disc antilock brakes, front airbags, and electronic stability control. Passenger versions of the Savana 3500 add standard side curtain airbags and three-layer glass windows that help to reduce the risk of a passenger ejection should a collision occur.
