Utility
The Ford's more sizeable trunk will accommodate more sizeable things than the GMC. The GMC Canyon and the Ford can accommodate the same number of passengers. The Ford F-150 is likely a better choice than the GMC Canyon in terms of hauling capacity, especially if you frequently need to carry a lot of suitcases or sizeable dogs. There's little the GMC Canyon can tow that the Ford F-150 cannot.

Dimensions
The F-150 is considerably more bulky than the GMC Canyon. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Ford F-150 than the GMC Canyon because of its larger tank.
