GMC Acadia vs. Mercury Mountaineer Review

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Mercury Mountaineer is quite certainly nimbler than the GMC, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, keep in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The GMC and the Mercury Mountaineer have similar-sized engines, with a slight advantage to the Mercury Mountaineer. The Mountaineer has no lessons to learn as far as pickup from the GMC Acadia.

Utility
The GMC Acadia will quite certainly prove more convenient than the Mercury Mountaineer for those of you with frequent child-cargo. Towing is considerably more the Mercury Mountaineer's forte than it is the GMC Acadia's.

The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Acadia to the dealership as the Mercury Mountaineer. The Mercury Mountaineer guzzles a lot of gasoline compared to the GMC Acadia. The GMC Acadia will save you money at the pump compared to the Mercury Mountaineer. The GMC Acadia is substantially more expensive than the Mountaineer as far as MSRP.
