2011 Ford Transit Connect Overview (See Available Styles)

For those who want an alternative to the gas-guzzling ten thousand pound-hauling work trucks, you’ll be happy to know that a smarter, more efficient and versatile option is out there.  That option is the 2011 Ford Transit Connect.

The 2011 Ford Transit Connect is a Euro-style light-duty van that is easily maneuverable, fuel efficient, and spacious enough to handle loads of cargo all at the same time.  Already highly popular in Europe, the Transit Connect is powered by a 2.0-liter, 138-horsepower I-4 engine which is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.  Although the Transit Connect won’t win any races, it will definitely save you money at the pump with fuel economy ratings of 20 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

The 2011 Transit Connect performs its intended functions well.  It boasts 135 cubic feet of cargo capacity and has 6.5 feet of cargo length and 4.7 feet of width.  The Transit Connect is 6-feet, 6-inches tall, yet small enough to fit in most parking spaces.  Second-row dual sliding doors with Privacy Glass, a standard 180-degree rear bam door hinge (a 255-degree door hinge is optional), and two-front power point plugs are just a few of the features that make the Transit Connect easy to live with.

The 2011 Ford Transit Connect’s versatility shines through.  Although it may have smaller dimensions than many of the other storage vans on the market today, the rear cargo space can be customized to take on whatever task you need it to.  The Transit Connect can be outfitted with a pullout shelving system, which appeals to technical services, floral delivery, mobile electronics, catering and much more.  A steel storage system features lockable drawers and convenient shelving for your mobile business.  A parcel interior package is designed to maximize the storage area and is installed by Leggett & Platt CVP.

Looking to haul passengers as well?  The Transit Connect is available with a second row of seats, that can raise capacity to five passengers, and still offers plenty of cargo room in the back.  A new taxi prep package for companies looking for alternatives to the traditional taxi van, and a new package for people with disabilities enables the 2011 Ford Transit Connect to connect to an even wider audience.

Ford’s Work Solutions™ system is also available.  This innovative system includes an in-dash computer that runs Microsoft® Windows® for automotive as well as other software, helps business owners, contractors, and fleet owners track inventory and vehicles and also helps to increase productivity – even when on the road.

Safety features on the 2011 Transit Connect include driver and front passenger airbags, side-impact airbags, ABS, roll stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

Be smarter with your business on wheels with the efficient and versatile 2011 Ford Transit Connect.
