2010 Ford Taurus Overview
Once upon a time, the Ford Taurus was the full-size sedan that set the trend.  After a brief hiatus and then lackluster return, the 2010 Ford Taurus features a redesigned interior and exterior making it impossible to ignore the Taurus any longer.

Available in four trims – SE, SEL, Limited and back-from-the-dead SHO, the 2010 Taurus has something for everyone.  A 3.5-liter, 263-horsepower V-6 is mated to a six-speed transmission and is standard on SE, SEL and Limited trims.  If you desire greater performance, the SHO (Super High Output) trim utilizes a twin-turbo, direct-injection 3.5-liter, 365-horsepower V-6 beast that is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with standard all-wheel drive and mounted paddle shifters.  The SHO features Ford’s EcoBoost engine that is designed to generate the power of a V-8 with V-6 fuel economy.  Speaking of fuel economy, the Taurus receives 17-18 mpg in the city and 24-28 mpg on the highway and competes with the Buick Lucerne, Chrysler 300 and Toyota Avalon.

The enhanced three-bar grille is different from the bold three-bar grille on previous models and other makes.  The center bar is solid, while the top and bottom bar have electric razor-like perforations that will immediately distinguish the new Taurus from any other car.  The front bumper features an open-mouth approach and the hood is sportier and sleeker than previous models.  The rear fascia, trunk lid and taillights have also been given a sleeker refresh.  A dual exhaust and 17-, 18- and 19-inch aluminum wheels are available.

On the inside, the 2010 Ford Taurus features optional Intelligent Access with push-button start and voice-activated navigation system with SIRIUS Travel Link, which delivers real-time traffic info, weather and sports scores.  The available 390-watt, 12-speaker, six-CD Sony surround sound audio system provides excellent sound quality and an auxiliary input jack supports most MP3 players.  The available SYNC™ Communications and Entertainment System allows you to use voice commands to access your music collection by genre, album, artist or song title, and operate your Bluetooth®.  A power moonroof and rear sunshade, heated and cooled leather front seats and power-adjustable pedals are also available.

When it comes to safety, the Taurus has you and your family in mind.  Side curtain airbags, side-impact airbags for the front seats, antilock brakes and an electronic stability system are just some of the standard features.  The available Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert is exclusive to the 2010 Ford Taurus and can detect objects within a 65-foot range from either side of the Taurus.

By incorporating a fresh interior and exterior look, cutting-edge technology and a sporty, powerful trim, the 2010 Ford Taurus is back in a major way.
