In terms of horsepower, the Ford Shelby GT500 packs quite a wallop and will knock the average sport convertible down a few rungs. However, remember that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Drivetrain
The Ford Shelby GT500's engine is markedly bigger than the typical sport convertible's. Note that larger engines may use more gas than smaller ones.
