2009 Ford F-250 Overview
One of the most capable full-size pick-ups on the market today, the 2009 Ford F-250 combines rugged sport and utility on the outside with refinement inside to make drivers feel like the kings of the road.

The F-250 is ready to unleash a well-equipped beast under the hood at a moment’s notice. Ranging from a 300-horsepower, 5.4-liter V-8 engine to a 362-horsepower, 6.8-liter V-10 giant, all powertrains come with iron block and aluminum cylinder heads, single overhead camshaft and three valves per cylinder. And with between 365 to 457 pound-feet of torque, these vehicles are mated with a six-speed manual transmission with option for a five-speed automatic. For additional variety, Ford offers this Super Duty machine in a 350-horsepower, 6.4-liter V-8 turbo-diesel version, good for 650 pound-feet of peak torque power.

With suitable competition coming from the Nissan Titan, Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and Dodge Ram 2500, the F-250 was redesigned in 2008 and offers an even wider range of interior styles this year. And its payload and tow ratings are some of the best around, with up to 2,830 and 16,300 pounds of capacity, respectively. Fuel tank size is also very impressive, topping out at an amazing 38 gallons.

With theme packages like the King Ranch and Harley Davidson and availability in regular cab, SuperCab or crew cab body styles, the F-250 affords some of the most playful trucks in today’s market to personalize one’s unique sense of driving style. Also included are helpful technology like Ford Work Solutions, a collection of technologies that help businesses keep track of tools and projects; the automaker’s hands-free, voice-activated Sync system, developed in conjunction with Microsoft for phone and music players; and voice-activated navigation with Sirius Travel Link. Finally, an automated spray-on factory bedliner applies film in a thinner but uniform manner to reduce weight while minimizing load slippage.

Driver and passenger safety is paramount for all Ford vehicles and the F-250 is no exception. Antilock brakes, massive four-wheel disc brakes and front airbags come standard. Upgradable features include traction control, top-tether anchors for child-safety seats, rearview camera system and SOS post-crash alert system.

For any type of workload you can imagine, the 2009 Ford F-250 is a guaranteed winner that you can’t go wrong with in your final car buying decision.
