Ford Expedition vs. Land Rover LR3 Review

With that kind of horsepower, both the Ford Expedition and the Land Rover are genuine sportscars.

Handling
With their similar turning circles, the Land Rover LR3 and the Ford most definitely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Ford Expedition has a more sizeable engine than the Land Rover. Note that smaller engines are often cheaper to fix, but a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder. Torque equals pickup, and the Expedition will have picked up and gone by the time the Land Rover LR3 finally gets moving. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Ford Expedition is considerably more powerful than the Land Rover LR3.

Utility
The Ford Expedition will most certainly prove more convenient than the Land Rover LR3 for those of you with frequent kid-cargo. The Ford Expedition is likely a better choice than the Land Rover LR3 when it comes to transporting cargo, especially if you frequently need to carry a lot of luggage or massive pets. The Ford Expedition outpulls the Land Rover LR3 by a massive margin.

Convenience
You will most certainly have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Land Rover LR3 than with the Ford.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Land Rover LR3 offers a bit more head room than the Ford, there honestly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Land Rover LR3 offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the Expedition, there frankly isn't much of a difference.

Dimensions
Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Expedition than the Land Rover LR3 because of its bigger tank. The Land Rover LR3 and the Expedition compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Land Rover LR3 to the dealership as the Ford Expedition. There frankly isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Ford Expedition is somewhat more economical than the Land Rover LR3. The Expedition isn't much less expensive than the Land Rover LR3 when it comes to MSRP.

Warranty
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Ford isn't quite as generous as the Land Rover LR3's.
