2011 Ford Expedition Overview

With room for up to eight passengers and excellent towing capabilities, the 2011 Ford Expedition allows you to take your family and friends on a trek wherever your adventurous heart desires.

The 2011 Ford Expedition is not just another SUV.  For those who love size, the Expedition seats up to eight people in up to three rows of seats.  Cargo room varies with 108.3 cubic feet of volume behind the first row, 55 cubic feet behind the second row and 18.6 cubic feet behind the third.  The optional third row folds flat into the floor via an optional power-folding mechanism. Available in XLT, Eddie Bauer, Limited and King Ranch series, and 4x2 and 4x4 configurations, the 2011 Ford Expedition is definitely versatile.  The Expedition is powered by a 5.4-liter, 310-horsepower, flex-fuel V-8 engine with 365 pounds-feet of torque, and can tow up to a gargantuan 9,200 pounds.

The FlexFuel feature allows you to switch between regular gasoline and ethanol. The 2011 Ford Expedition offers competitive power and fuel economy at 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway and competes with the Toyota Sequoia, GMC Yukon and Chevrolet Tahoe.  A longer version of the Expedition, the Expedition EL is 15 inches longer and comes with a standard third row.

Ford’s SYNC® voice-activated hands-free communications and entertainment system is a standard feature on Eddie Bauer, Limited and King Ranch trim levels. An available voice-activated navigation system with SIRIUS Travel Link and a DVD entertainment system are just some of the optional features. An auto-dimming rearview mirror and leather-wrapped steering wheel come standard, while a power moonroof, power running boards, power liftgate, heated and cooled front seats are also available.

The 2011 Ford Expedition is loaded with standard safety features including trailer sway control, which works in conjunction with AdvanceTrac and roll stability control to apply the brakes or reduce engine torque in order to bring both the vehicle and trailer under control. Four-wheel-disc antilock brakes, front-seat side impact airbags and side curtain airbags come standard, while a rearview camera is optional. Ford’s SOS Post-Crash Alert System activates the horn and emergency flashers in the event of airbag deployment.

Not only does the 2011 Ford Expedition offer copious amounts of passenger and cargo flexibility, but it is equipped with the technological amenities and safety measures to keep you entertained and safe no matter what (or where) your final destination may be.
