The Ford Taurus X's fuel tank will need to be replenished a bit more often than the unit in the Edge.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Edge to the dealership as the Taurus X. There frankly isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Ford Edge is somewhat more economical than the Ford Taurus X. The Ford Edge won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Ford Taurus X. In terms of MSRP, the Taurus X doesn't cost much less than the Ford Edge.

Handling
With their similar turning radii, the Ford Edge and the Ford Taurus X definitely handle almost the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Taurus X has no lessons to learn when it comes to torque from the Edge.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Edge offers a bit more head room than the Ford Taurus X, there frankly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Ford Taurus X offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the Ford Edge, there frankly isn't much of a difference.
