2010 Ford Edge Overview
Featuring a bold design, the 2010 Ford Edge mid-size crossover boasts an improved powertrain and aerodynamics, which has increased overall fuel efficiency over the previous model without having to sacrifice performance or the Edge's signature smooth and quiet ride.
The 2010 Ford Edge is available in SE, SEL, Limited and Sport trim levels and powered by a refined 265-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and is available in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Although maybe not as sexy as the Nissan Murano or Toyota Venza, the 2010 Ford Edge can now deliver up to 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway (FWD) and 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway (AWD).
The SE comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, blind spot mirrors, keyless entry, reclining backseats and a four-speaker stereo with CD/MP3 player and an auxiliary audio jack. A convenience package adds rear parking sensors, an auto-dimming mirror, automatic headlights and steering wheel audio controls. The SEL adds 18-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, a six-way power driver seat, a trunk-mounted second-row folding seat release, a trip computer, satellite radio and an in-dash 6-CD changer. The Edge Sport adds 20-inch chrome-clad wheels, better tires, different front and rear fascias, ambient interior lighting and Sync.
You can option the 2010 Ford Edge with Ford Sync and a voice-activated navigation system featuring SIRIUS Travel Link, which provides information including real-time traffic and weather reports, sports scores, movie listings and fuel options. A panoramic vista roof is also available. On the inside, the Edge comfortably seats five. A reclining 60/40-split second-row seat folds to provide a level load floor for carrying your equipment. An available fold-flat front passenger seat allows you to carry items as long as eight feet. Each rear seat can be folded manually using a single-hand release or automatically with an available EasyFold electro-mechanical remote release accessible from the rear cargo area.
Standard safety features include Ford’s AdvanceTrac roll stability control as well as Ford's safety canopy side curtain airbag system. The 2010 Ford Edge’s available intelligent all-wheel-drive system helps performance in poor weather by monitoring and predicting traction and delivering torque to all four wheels before they begin to slip.
The 2010 Ford Edge delivers on its promise for improved fuel efficiency, cargo flexibility, and standard safety technologies.
