2009 Ford Edge Overview
When consumers speak, Ford not only listens, but delivers.  The 2009 Ford Edge midsize crossover combines utility, cargo space, cutting-edge technology, premier safety features and a powerful engine that is sure to please all types of drivers.

Available in three trims: SE, SEL, Limited and all-new Sport edition, the Edge is chock-full of options.  When it comes to power, the Edge features a powerful 3.5-liter, 265-horsepower Duratec V-6 engine, which is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.  The Edge gets good fuel economy with 15-17 MPG in the city and 22-24 MPG on the highway and competes with the Nissan Murano, Mazda CX-7 and Mitsubishi Outlander.

Resembling a boxy wagon, the Edge has a distinct chrome grille that immediately separates it from the pack.  Choose from 17-, 18-, 20- and 22-inch wheels and either cloth, leather and leather/suede upholstery.  The Edge seats five with 60/40-split rear seats that can be remotely released with the press of a button.   The Edge gets 32.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat and 69 cubic feet of cargo space when the rear seat is folded.  Soak up the sun with an optional Vista Roof two-panel sunroof.

The Edge comes with the SYNC® Communications and Entertainment System, which integrates Bluetooth® connectivity with mobile phones and allows you to control your MP3 library by voice.  An optional voice-activated Navigation System that features a 10GB hard drive for storing photos, ripping CDs, and managing music with the Jukebox function.  SIRIUS® Satellite Radio offers real-time traffic, weather, fuel prices (including lowest available prices), sports scores and schedules and movie listings.  An MP3 audio input jack and USB help integrate your portable media player with ease.

When it comes to safety, the Edge has you and your loved ones covered.  A new blind sport mirror adds a convex mirror aimed at the drivers blind spot and SOS-Post Crash Alert System unlocks the Edge’s doors and activates the horn/hazard flasher in the event of a crash.  Dual-stage front airbags, side-impact and side curtain airbags, Safety Canopy System with rollover sensor, safety-designed body structure and SecuriLock® Passive Anti-Theft System are proof that the Edge takes safety seriously.  The available all-wheel drive adds stability and traction in all types of driving conditions.

For those who need a vehicle capable of day-to-day life, or for those who like to take life to the limit—the 2009 Ford Edge has arrived.
