2009 Ford E-250 Overview
The rugged 2009 Ford E-250 is a commercial grade cargo van that has the most interior space in its class. Mostly a carryover from the 2008 edition, the Ford E-250 is a terrific choice if you are a person intending to do a lot of hauling, moving or just like a van to be reckoned with.

Available in either regular (216.7 inches) or extended length (236.4 inches) the Ford E-250 comes in two trims; recreational or commercial. Each trim is outfitted with a standard 4.6-liter Triton V-8 engine that can generate 225-horsepower. If that’s not enough juice, go for the 5.4-liter Triton V-8 which can also produce 255-horsepower. Either engine is controlled by a four-speed automatic transmission (complete with overdrive). All models have rear-wheel drive. The massive gas tank holds 35 gallons of unleaded fuel, and gets 15 MPG in the city and 19 MPG on the highway. In the 2009 model, both engines are flex fuel capable and have multi-point injection fuel systems.    Whatever trim you choose, feel confident in the fact that this formidable van can also haul anywhere from 5,900 to 6,500 pounds depending on the engine.

Often compared to the Chevrolet Express 2500 or the GMC Savanna 2500, the E-250 is comparable in power, pricing and room, yet has far more options and style.

Such a sizable vehicle comes with significant safety features. All trims come with four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, driver and front passenger airbags. The recreational trim has comes with electronic traction and stability control. For an additional fee add a back-up camera to help you park.

While you would think that this workhorse is just utilitarian, it has great standard features, including air conditioning, tilt steering wheel and a 36 month/36,000 mile warranty. For just a bit more add a rear bumper step and running board (on commercial trims) and daytime running lights (on all trims). Ford has added a new instrument panel integrated with the glove compartment for their 2009 model.

The tough and effective 2009 Ford E-250 can haul anything your heart desires, whether you are moving family, friends or supplies.
