2009 Ford E-150 Overview
Need more room than a typical station wagon, but not quite ready to commit to a airport shuttle size van? Check out the 2009 Ford E-150. Like its sister model, the Ford E-350, the E-150 can haul tons of supplies in the Cargo version or tons of people in the XLT Wagon or Passenger versions. Unlike the behemoth of the 350, the 150 is smaller, more efficient and seats eight passengers. Craving even more room? The E-150 comes in a base model or extended length. The base model offers the option of commercial or recreational trim. Passenger models are available in the rugged XL (base model) or XTL. The E-150 can tow up to 7,500 pounds and boasts 236.5 cubic feet of cargo room. Expect to see a redesigned instrument panel that includes four new upfitter switches and optional factory-installed navigation. Priced between $25,000 and $30,000, the van is similar to other vehicles in its class. It is flex fuel capable, and its engines are available in either a 4.6-liter, 225-horsepower Triton or a 5.4-liter, 255-horsepower Triton V-8. All models use a 4-speed automatic transmission. Standard options include antilock brakes, air conditioning and a full-size spare tire located under the body of the van. There aren't a lot of luxury options for this workhorse. Those buys looking for a little something to brighten up their vehicles can add chrome bumpers, the power option package (remote keyless entry, power doors and windows) or specially designed headlamps. When hauling of your precious cargo or fantastic friends, safety concerns are of utmost importance. The Ford E-150 is built on a durable platform and has antilock brakes standard with traction and stability control. The front seat passenger and driver have the added safety of front impact airbags. A rearview backup camera and factory-installed integrated trailer brake controller are optional. The 2009 Ford E-150 is a tremendous value for the towing capacity. Whether you're hauling friends, neighbors or a van full of bricks, it will be a reliable, sturdy and safe vehicle.
