Dodge Viper vs. BMW M3 Review

Utility
The BMW M3 will most definitely prove more convenient than the Dodge Viper for those of you with frequent kid-cargo.

Performance
With respect to horsepower, the Dodge Viper packs quite a punch and will knock the BMW M3 down a few rungs. On the other hand, note that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The Dodge's tank is approximately the same size as the M3's, though the BMW's is a little larger. The Dodge Viper and the BMW M3 compete for the same parking spaces. The Viper's shorter wheelbase will give a sprier feel in daily traffic. However, the BMW M3 is likely to have a smoother, more stable ride.

Convenience
The Dodge Viper's fuel tank will need to be replenished a bit more often than the unit in the BMW M3.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the BMW M3 to the dealership as the Dodge Viper. Producing a precise fuel economy evaluation is so tough that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though both the BMW and the BMW perform roughly similarly with respect to gas mileage. As far as gas mileage, the Viper and the BMW M3 don't differ much. The BMW M3 is tremendously less pricey than the Dodge when it comes to MSRP.

Handling
With their comparable turning radii, the BMW M3 and the Viper likely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Dodge Viper's engine is tremendously bigger than the M3's. Keep in mind that bigger engines may use more gas than smaller ones. The Dodge Viper packs quite a punch compared to the BMW M3 in terms of torque, which is the force that lets you accelerate quickly. Torque equals pickup, and the Dodge Viper will have picked up and gone by the time the BMW M3 finally gets moving.

Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the M3's front cabin compared to the Dodge Viper.

Warranty
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Viper isn't quite as generous as the BMW M3's.
