Dodge Ram 3500 vs. Ford F-250 Review

Performance
With that kind of horsepower, both the Dodge Ram 3500 and the Ford F-250 are true speedsters.

Handling
With their comparable turning circles, the Dodge Ram 3500 and the Ford F-250 most definitely handle almost the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Ford F-250's engine is significantly smaller than the Dodge Ram 3500's. Keep in mind that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; on the other hand, smaller engines typically get better gas mileage. Torque equals pickup, and the Dodge will have picked up and gone by the time the Ford F-250 finally gets moving. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Dodge Ram 3500 is tremendously more powerful than the Ford F-250.

Utility
The Ford's bigger trunk will accommodate more big items than the Dodge Ram 3500. Neither the Dodge nor the Ford F-250 has a marked advantage as far as seating capacity. There's no clear winner between the Ram 3500 and the Ford F-250 with respect to hauling capacity. Towing is significantly more the Dodge Ram 3500's forte than it is the Ford F-250's.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Ford offers a bit more head room than the Dodge Ram 3500, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The ampler interior dimensions of the Dodge Ram 3500 make it substantially roomier for your passengers than the Ford F-250.

Dimensions
The Ram 3500 is substantially more bulky than the Ford. The Dodge Ram 3500's tank is almost the same size as the Ford F-250's, though the Ford F-250's is a little bigger. The Ford F-250 and the Dodge compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Dodge to the dealership as the F-250. The Dodge Ram 3500 is significantly pricier than the Ford F-250 in terms of MSRP.

Warranty
The Ford F-250 and the Dodge Ram 3500 have the same basic warranty.
