Dodge Ram 2500 vs. GMC Sierra 1500 Review

Utility
The GMC's bigger trunk will accommodate more big items than the Dodge Ram 2500. The Dodge Ram 2500 and the GMC Sierra 1500 can accommodate the same number of passengers. The Dodge Ram 2500 is likely a better choice than the GMC in terms of transporting cargo, especially if you often need to carry a lot of stuff or sizeable dogs. Towing is considerably more the Dodge Ram 2500's forte than it is the GMC Sierra 1500's.

Performance
With that kind of horsepower, both the Ram 2500 and the GMC Sierra 1500 are genuine speedsters.

Dimensions
The Dodge is considerably more bulky than the Sierra 1500. The GMC Sierra 1500 and the Dodge Ram 2500 compete for the same parking spaces. The GMC Sierra 1500's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a more agile feel in daily traffic than the Dodge Ram 2500.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the Dodge Ram 2500 to the dealership as the GMC. Regarding MSRP, the Ram 2500 costs substantially more than the GMC Sierra 1500.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the GMC Sierra 1500 is quite certainly nimbler than the Dodge Ram 2500, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, keep in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Sierra 1500's engine is significantly smaller than the Dodge Ram 2500's. Bear in mind that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; on the other hand, smaller engines typically get better gas mileage. The Dodge Ram 2500 packs quite a wallop compared to the GMC regarding torque, which is roughly equivalent to acceleration. Torque equals pickup, and the Dodge Ram 2500 will have picked up and gone by the time the Sierra 1500 finally gets moving.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the GMC Sierra 1500 offers a bit more head room than the Dodge, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The Dodge offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Sierra 1500 does.

Warranty
The Sierra 1500 and the Dodge Ram 2500 have the same basic warranty.
