Dodge Ram 1500 vs. Ford F-150 SuperCrew Review

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Dodge Ram 1500 is definitely nimbler than the Ford F-150 SuperCrew, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, remember that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Ford F-150 SuperCrew's engine is significantly more sizeable than the Dodge's. Bear in mind that more massive engines may use more gas than smaller ones. Torque equals pickup, and the Ford F-150 SuperCrew will have picked up and gone by the time the Dodge Ram 1500 finally gets moving. The Dodge Ram 1500 could learn a lesson or two from the Ford when it comes to torque.

Utility
The Ford F-150 SuperCrew is likely a better choice than the Dodge in terms of transporting cargo, especially if you frequently need to carry a lot of loot or sizeable dogs. The Dodge Ram 1500 and the Ford can accommodate the same number of passengers. The Ford F-150 SuperCrew outpulls the Dodge Ram 1500 by a large margin.

Convenience
The Dodge Ram 1500's fuel tank will need to be replenished slightly more often than the unit in the F-150 SuperCrew.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Ford F-150 SuperCrew offers a bit more head room than the Dodge, there honestly isn't much of a difference. The Ford F-150 SuperCrew provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Ram 1500 does.

Dimensions
The Ford F-150 SuperCrew is substantially more bulky than the Dodge Ram 1500. The Ram 1500's tank is about the same size as the F-150 SuperCrew's, though the F-150 SuperCrew's is somewhat bigger. The Dodge and the Ford F-150 SuperCrew compete for the same parking spaces. The Dodge Ram 1500's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a nimbler feel in daily traffic than the Ford F-150 SuperCrew.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Dodge Ram 1500 to the dealership as the Ford. In terms of MSRP, the Dodge Ram 1500 costs substantially less than the Ford F-150 SuperCrew.

Warranty
The Ford F-150 SuperCrew and the Ram 1500 have the same basic after-sale protection.
