2011 Dodge Ram 3500 Overview
For premium towing, hauling, and all-around outdoors performance, the 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 Heavy Duty truck is as good as it gets.
When you need to move the heaviest loads, the 2011 Dodge Ram 3500’s 350-horsepower, 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel inline-six and its 650 pound-feet of torque is itching to help. The hefty diesel stands up well against competition from the Ford F-350 and Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD, and is paired to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
Drivetrain configurations include a regular or dually rear axle, and two-or four-wheel drive. Payload reaches a weighty 6,520 pounds, and towing capacity hits 18,750 pounds with the fifth-wheel option. To handle those loads, the Ram rides on a fully boxed frame. The cab’s C-pillar rides on hydraulic body mounts to soften the ride, while the front axle and suspension have been strengthened to accommodate a wider range of snowplow prep packages.
The 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 is available in a Crew Cab, Regular Cab and Mega Cab. The Mega Cab dominates the full-size truck class with 72.2 cubic feet of interior volume and 7.7 cubic feet of cargo room behind the rear seats. Interior functionality is bolstered by under-floor storage, and the rear seats can recline for optimal passenger comfort. The cab options pair with a six- and eight-foot bed and a commercial-grade chassis cab.
The 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 is available in ST, SLT, Laramie and Power Wagon trim levels. The SLT and SXT feature an optional sunroof, a TV with DVD entertainment system and a navigation system. The Laramie trim adds leather upholstery, and the heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, SIRIUS Backseat TV with three channels, and a 10-speaker surround-sound system are options that make this truck rock. Also available is the Uconnect multimedia system with 30GB hard drive, which allows wireless device connectivity and Internet access. Power folding mirrors, a revised navigation system, new factory spray-in bedliner, and three new colors are new options for 2011.
Even though the previously mentioned trims have a little something for everyone, the all-new 2011 Ram Outdoorsman and 2011 Laramie Longhorn are aimed at those who truly appreciate the wilderness. The Ram Outdoorsman replaces the TRX model and offers hunters, fishermen and campers an ideal vehicle to get to the wilderness in. An optional fishing rod and rifle rack, trailer-towing upgrades, giant fuel tank, an enhanced lighting package, all-terrain tires, underbody protection, and recliner-worth seats allow you to roam wherever you please in comfort. Dodge proclaims the 2011 Laramie Longhorn to be the most luxurious Ram to date; the interior has a vintage western look with stitched leather saddle-bag-esque upholstery, walnut trim and all-weather rubber mats with removable Berber inserts.
The 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 is built to tackle impacts head on, but you will still appreciate the standard dual front and optional side curtain airbags. A brake controller comes standard on some models.
Get up, get out and get to work—the monstrous 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 Heavy Duty pick up is ready and waiting.
