2010 Dodge Ram 3500 Overview
If you need a truck big enough to accommodate Paul Bunyan as a passenger and strong enough to carry his ox Babe, you’re going to need the freshly redesigned 2010 Dodge Ram 3500.
When you need to bring down an empire, you will need the grunt of the 350-horsepower, 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel inline-six and its 650 pound-feet of torque. The hefty diesel stands up well against competition from the Ford F-350 and Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD, and is paired to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
Drivetrain configurations include regular and dually rear axles, and two-and four-wheel drive. Payload reaches a weighty 5,110 pounds, and towing capacity hits 18,500 pounds with the fifth-wheel option. To handle those loads, the Ram rides on a fully boxed frame. To soften the ride, the cab’s C-pillar rides on vibration-dampening liquid-filled mounts.
For 2010, the Dodge Ram 3500 is now available in a Crew Cab variation, as well as Regular Cab and Mega Cab. The Mega Cab dominates the full-size truck class with 72.2 cubic feet of interior volume and 7.7 cubic feet of cargo room behind the rear seats. Interior functionality is bolstered by under-floor storage, and for dessert the rear seats can recline for optimal passenger comfort. Those cab options pair with a six-foot-four bed, an eight-foot bed and a commercial grade chassis cab.
The 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 is available in five trim levels: ST, SLT, TRX, Laramie, and Power Wagon. The ST is not wont for power features, while the SLT and SXT open up great options like a sunroof, a TV with DVD entertainment system and a navigation system. Laramie adds leather, and the Power Wagon caters to the off-road, high-ridin’ enthusiast with its 32-inch tires and Bilstein shocks. Heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, SIRIUS Backseat TV with three channels and a 10-speaker surround-sound system are options that make this truck rock. Also available is the Uconnect multimedia system, which allows wireless device connectivity and internet access.
The 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 is built to tackle impacts head on, but you will still need the dual front and optional side curtain airbags.
More hauling capability than most trucks on the planet, a sturdy frame and amazing interior features make the 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 a formidable yet fun heavy duty pickup.
