2009 Dodge Ram 2500 Overview
One of the most powerful full-size pickups on the market, the 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 offers gasoline or diesel power, huge towing capacity, and a surprisingly refined driving demeanor.
In regular cab, four-door Quad Cab®, or stretched Mega Cab® configurations, the Ram 2500 is available in a whopping five trim levels – from the bare-bones ST to fully-loaded Laramie. The powerful 5.7-liter, 383-horsepower HEMI® V-8 cranks out 400 pounds-feet of torque, and with its fuel-saving Multi-Displacement System, it deactivates four cylinders while cruising to maximize fuel savings. An optional 6.7-liter, 350-horsepower Cummins® turbocharged diesel V-8 produces a mountainous 650 pounds-feet of torque, allowing you to haul just about anything.
4-wheel drive models feature a manual-shift transfer case or available electric shift, operating in four modes for ultimate traction and flexibility. When properly equipped, the maximum towing capacity is an impressive 13,600 pounds, while the maximum payload of 3,350 pounds can handle seriously huge loads.
Available power adjustable pedals adjust forward in back to accommodate drivers of all sizes. The Ram 2500 boasts the incredibly versatile UConnect® system that can fulfill your digital dreams through a 6.5-inch touch screen. Turn your car into a Wi-Fi hotspot and connect laptops, phones, PSPs, PDAs and play online games, surf the internet and download music. The 30 GB hard drive lets you upload and store up to 6,700 songs, tons of photos and play your iPod/MP3 player through the sound system. Include Sirius Satellite Radio, turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth connectivity and you’ve just turned your car into the ultimate entertainment center. Quad Cab models feature an available video entertainment system with 7-inch color LCD screen, remote control, and wireless headsets.
Safety features include Electronic Stability Control to maximize handling and control during quick evasive moves and Hill Start Assist to prevent roll-back on large hills. Large brake calipers and available 4-wheel anti lock brakes help to prevent lockup during hard braking. Standard dual front airbags combine with available side-curtain airbags with roll sensing technology for superior passenger protection in the event of a collision. Interior options include available remote start, allowing you to start the vehicle up to 300 feet away.
