2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Overview
There is nothing sheepish about the 2010 Dodge Ram 1500. This full-size pickup truck is all thick-skulled toughness, with modern technology, three cab and bed choices, and plenty of V-6 and V-8 muscle to charge forward.
Behind the forward-leaning cross-hair grille of the 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 is one of three engines; a 215-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6; a 310-horsepower, 4.7-liter V-8; or an unmatched 390-horsepower 5.7-liter V-8. There are also three transmission choices: a four-speed manually shiftable automatic and two five-speed automatics—one with the manual-shift feature. Best in class aerodynamics help the Ram achieve 13-14 mpg in the city and 18-20 mpg on the highway. The Ram hauls up to 1,850 pounds of payload, and for 2010 the tow rating has been increased to an unmatched 15,500 pounds.
The two-door ST model boasts standard/optional features like cruise control, Sirius Satellite Radio, air conditioning and a CD player. Step up to the SLT model, and you will get an optional sunroof, heated and power adjustable driver and passenger front seats, a rearview camera and a navigation system. The top-end Laramie model gives you power, heated leather seats standard, dual zone climate control and an optional TV with DVD entertainment system. The available Uconnect multimedia system offers real-time traffic and navigation, phone connectivity and multiple ways to connect and store music files. Three bed lengths (five-foot-seven, six-foot-four, and eight feet) and three cab sizes (two door, Quad Cab® and crew cab) allow you to choose the right balance between more passengers and more cargo.
Four-wheel antilock brakes, coupled with traction and stability control systems keep the 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 from sliding. If you manage to hit anything other than another Dodge Ram, your chances of “winning” are good with this sturdy steel frame protecting you with front and head airbags cushioning occupants during impact. This safety package nets the Ram Five-Star front impact ratings in government crash tests; side impact ratings are not available at this time.
