Dodge Journey vs. Suzuki XL7 Review

Utility
The Suzuki XL7 and the Dodge can accommodate the same number of passengers. The Dodge Journey is a better choice than the Suzuki XL7 when it comes to transporting cargo, especially if you often need to carry a lot of cargo or pets. Towing is significantly more the XL7's forte than it is the Dodge Journey's.

Dimensions
The XL7 is considerably heavier than the Dodge. The Suzuki XL7's tank is almost the same size as the Dodge Journey's, though the Dodge Journey's is a tad larger. The Dodge Journey and the Suzuki compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
The Suzuki XL7's fuel tank will need to be replenished slightly more often than the unit in the Dodge Journey.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Dodge Journey is substantially cheaper to get to the dealership than the Suzuki. The Suzuki won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Dodge Journey. In terms of MSRP, the Suzuki costs approximately as much as the Journey (though the Journey is a little cheaper).

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Journey is most certainly sprier than the Suzuki XL7, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, bear in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Suzuki XL7 has a larger engine than the Dodge Journey. Bear in mind that smaller engines are often cheaper to fix, but smaller engines can be stressed more. Torque equals pickup, and the Suzuki XL7 will have picked up and gone by the time the Dodge Journey finally gets moving. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Suzuki XL7 is considerably more powerful than the Dodge Journey.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Suzuki XL7 offers a bit more head room than the Journey, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The ampler interior dimensions of the Suzuki XL7 make it considerably more spacious for your passengers than the Journey.

Warranty
The Journey and the Suzuki have the same basic warranty.
