Dodge Grand Caravan vs. Kia Rondo Review

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Rondo is quite certainly more maneuverable than the Dodge Grand Caravan, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, keep in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Kia Rondo's engine is significantly smaller than the Dodge Grand Caravan's. Bear in mind that smaller engines can be stressed more; however, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. Torque equals pickup, and the Dodge Grand Caravan will have picked up and gone by the time the Kia Rondo finally gets moving. The Kia could learn a lesson or two from the Dodge Grand Caravan as far as torque.

Utility
The Grand Caravan and the Kia Rondo can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Convenience
You'll quite certainly have to take the Kia Rondo for a fill-up more often than the Dodge Grand Caravan because of its tank size and gas mileage.

Comfort
Taller drivers will considerably enjoy the extra head room in the Kia's front cabin compared to the Dodge Grand Caravan. The Kia Rondo offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Dodge Grand Caravan does.

Dimensions
The Dodge Grand Caravan is substantially heavier than the Rondo. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Dodge Grand Caravan than the Kia Rondo because of its bigger tank. The Kia Rondo and the Dodge Grand Caravan compete for the same parking spaces. The Dodge Grand Caravan's longer wheelbase will likely result in a smoother, more stable ride; however, the Kia Rondo may give a more agile feel in daily traffic.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Kia Rondo is considerably cheaper to get to the dealership than the Dodge. There isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Kia Rondo is a tad more economical than the Dodge Grand Caravan. Regarding gas mileage, the Kia Rondo and the Dodge don't differ much. The Dodge Grand Caravan is significantly more expensive than the Kia as far as MSRP.

Warranty
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Grand Caravan isn't quite as generous as the Kia Rondo's.
