Dodge Durango vs. Ford Edge Review

The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs roughly the same to get the Edge to the dealership as the Dodge Durango. Producing an exact fuel economy evaluation is so difficult that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the Ford is the winner with respect to gas mileage. With respect to MSRP, the Dodge Durango costs about as much as the Edge (though the Edge is slightly cheaper). The Durango will cost you a bundle in gas every year compared to the Ford. The Ford Edge will save you a bundle at the pump every year compared to the Dodge.

Utility
Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Dodge Durango over the Ford Edge. The Dodge Durango is a better choice than the Edge with respect to transporting cargo, especially if you frequently need to carry a lot of gear or massive pets. Towing is considerably more the Dodge Durango's forte than it is the Ford Edge's.

Convenience
You'll likely take the Ford Edge for a fill-up about as often as the Dodge Durango.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Dodge Durango offers a bit more head room than the Edge, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The ampler interior dimensions of the Ford Edge make it substantially roomier for your passengers than the Dodge Durango.

Dimensions
Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Dodge Durango than the Ford Edge because of its bigger tank. The Edge and the Dodge Durango compete for the same parking spaces. The Ford Edge's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a nimbler feel in daily traffic than the Durango.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Dodge packs quite a wallop and will knock the Edge down a few rungs. On the flip side, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With their similar turning circles, the Ford Edge and the Dodge Durango most definitely handle roughly the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Dodge has a larger engine than the Ford. Bear in mind that smaller engines are often cheaper to fix, but a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder. The Dodge Durango packs quite a punch compared to the Ford Edge with respect to torque, which is the force that lets you accelerate quickly. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the Dodge is substantially more powerful than the Ford Edge.

Warranty
The Ford and the Durango have the same basic after-sale protection.
