2008 Dodge Durango Overview
Featuring best-in-class cargo room and eight-passenger seating, the 2008 Dodge Durango offers more power this year and enhanced infotainment options for a more pleasurable driving experience. The Durango is available in four trim lines – SXT, SLT, Adventurer, and Limited – with a variety of powerful engines. The standard 3.7 liter Magnum® V6 engine generates 210 horsepower and decent torque to satisfy most needs. The new, available 4.7 liter Flex-Fuel V8 engine boasts 303 horsepower and the option of using E85 fuel – a blend of ethanol and gasoline. The robust 5.7 liter HEMI® V8 engine makes 335 horsepower and features the Multiple-Displacement System, which deactivates up to four cylinders at cruising speeds to maximize fuel savings. With this engine, the Durango can tow up to 8,950 pounds – the most in its class. Two available All-Wheel Drive systems – single and two-speed – provide amazing control and handling in a variety of weather and road conditions. A variety of safety features make the Durango a supremely safe SUV. The available Electronic Stability Program is designed to assist drivers in maintaining control during extreme evasive maneuvers. The available Trailer Sway Control System helps to counteract trailer sway by reducing engine torque and increasing brake force. New, inset foglamps provide enhanced visibility and a more dominating appearance. The available DVD-based GPS navigation system offers turn-by-turn directions and a large, easy-to-read full-screen display to guide you on your route. Your ears will love the available Alpine® Premium Sound System with 8 speakers and a 368-watt amplifier. Along with the in-dash CD changer and auxiliary input jack, you can rock to digital music until the break of dawn. Back seat passengers will enjoy the available Rear Seat Video™ system, with an 8-inch flip-down color screen, a DVD player, and two wireless headsets for the ultimate entertainment experience. The big, powerful, and capable 2008 Dodge Durango is a strong competitor in the full-size SUV segment. |
